ZPMC inks port vehicle contract with South Africa’s Transnet

Chinese port equipment manufacturer, Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) has won a bid for port vehicles from Transnet Port Terminals in South Africa.

ZPMC is going to supply 22 plus 66 port transport vehicles for Transnet Port Terminals, which could greatly increase the company’s position in port machinery market in South Africa.

The port vehicles manufactured by ZPMC is in lightweight structure, equipped with high-power diesel engine and half-automated system.

The first batch of 22 port transport vehicles is scheduled for delivery starting from the end of this year.

It is the second port equipment project contract that ZPMC had signed in South Africa since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. The company secured seven port tractors order with Transnet Port Terminals earlier.
