State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic chooses Transas simulators

Transas Marine has successfully completed installation of the Fast Rescue Boat Simulator for the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Education Training and Certification Department. The simulator is based on the latest Transas Navi-Trainer Professional software (NTPRO) and will be used to train the SOCAR personnel to ensure safety at sea.

Training will be focused on Search and Rescue operations, in particular rescue boats operation, helicopter operation, and coordination of SAR operations in most adverse weather conditions. Simultaneous recording and playback, as well as use of equipment and data exchange in real time are the most effective means for crew training in rescue of human life at sea. The Search and Rescue functionality of the Transas Navigational simulator NTPRO 5000 enables training in accordance with the IAMSAR manual (edited jointly by the International Civil Aviation Organisation and International Maritime Organisation).

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is involved in exploring oil and gas fields, producing, processing, and transporting oil, gas, and gas condensate, and supplying natural gas in Azerbaijan. SOCAR corporate entities include three production divisions, two oil refineries and one gas processing plant, oil tanker fleet, deep water platform fabrication yard, two trusts, one institution, and 22 subdivisions.
