BV opens first international class society office at Sanya

Bureau Veritas (China) is opening up a new office at Sanya, Hainan province, becoming the first foreign classification society to be based in Sanya.

Hainan free trade port is providing tremendous opportunities and development space for China’s shipping industry, supporting by China’s Ministry of Transport, BV is expanding business in Hainan. Testablishment of the new office at Sanya will maximum BV’s advantages in vessel’s classification, technology consulting and ship survey and offering more comprehensive, professional and efficient services for Hainan free trade port construction, said an official from BV.

In June 2021, Hainan issued a notice to implement Hainan free trade port international ship regulations encouraging overseas classification society and ship survey organisations to set up office in Hainan free trade port.
