Within China's plans to focus reach peak carbon emissions by 2030, at least 30% of production capacity in energy-intensive sectors will meet tighter energy efficiency standards by 2025.
According to the plan, China will adjust and manage oil and gas consumption to promote the use of LNG fuel on vessels and other clean energy resources such as biofuel.
The nation will promote the low-carbon transformation for transportation sector, accelerate old vessel upgrading, develop LNG-powered and electric-powered vessels, promote shore power application and the use of green intelligent vessels for both coastal and inland river transportation.
Meanwhile, China will also promote the development of the offshore wind power industry, encourage the construction of offshore wind power stations, and explore and utilize various ocean energy resources.
One year ago, China announced its target of achieving a carbon emission peak before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060, a major strategy for realizing sustainable development.
