IMO HQ closed as precaution against coronavirus

The headquarters of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London have closed for two days as a precaution against the coronavirus (COVID-19).

IMO said its HQ was closed to visitors and staff on 12 and 13 March as “precautionary measure” the day after the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 to be a pandemic.

“The IMO Secretary-General and the Organization's Senior Management Committee are monitoring the situation closely. IMO staff are working from home where possible,” IMO said.

The UK currently has 460 coronavirus cases with eight deaths.
