Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency displays capabilities

The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) displayed its capabilities including search and rescue and combatting crime at sea in public demonstrations on Saturday.

The demonstrations took place on the final day of the Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace exhibition 2023 (LIMA 2023) the second of two public days, following three trade visitor only days earlier in the week.

The demonstrations involved 39 assets from the MMEA including ships, fast boats, rescue vessels, jet-skis, and helicopters.

The public witnessed 10 formations and three demonstrations. They including a search and rescue demonstration with victims at sea winched to safety, and a demonstration by the Special Action Team and Malaysian Maritime Rescue (STAR Team) in combatting criminal activity at sea.
