Panama Registry tonnage up 2.58% Jan – Apr 2021

The Panama Ship Registry has grown 2.58% in tonnage to 23 6.5m gt and to 8,652 vessels, up 1.6%, during the months of January to April 2021, according to IHS Markit figures, compared to December 2020.

During the first four months of this year, the Register has flagged 104 newly built vessels representing 3.2m gt.

The fleet’s performance maintains a 96.6% compliance at the end of the first period of 2021, according to the results of the Port State inspections in the different supervision regimes established around the world.
