All four tugs are being built in Damen Song Cam Shipyard, Vietnam, and feature a bollard pull of 65 tonnes with a hydraulically driven aft winch, top speeds of 12 knots through two Caterpillar 3516C TA HD/D main engines, and accommodation space for four crewmembers.

Named Svitzer Maimon and Svitzer Beata, the first two vessels will be delivered in mid-April to the Svitzer joint venture with Remolcadores Dominicanos port operations fleet in the Dominican Republic. The destination of the final two tugs, to be delivered in mid-August, is as yet unconfirmed.

Svitzer says its diverse and purpose-built fleet numbers over 500 vessels deployed in more than 40 countries, providing tailored solutions in harbour, terminal, offshore as well as salvage operations.
