“There is a conspiracy set up against me and it is damaging,” he was quoted as saying. “There are no supporting documents on the breach of my duties. (If that is true) Let them prove it,” he added.

The legal action was filed against Tanjung Offshore’s legal adviser Krishna Kumar Sivasubramaniam, director Shahrizal Hisham Abdul Halim, director Eric Tan Wee Koh, corporate finance head Joachim Tan Seow Hoe and corporate finance officer Khairil Annuar Mohd Said.

Tan, who emerged as a substantial shareholder in 2013, said he attempted to settle issues amicably with the parties but to no avail, so he resorted to taking the case to court.

In the latest legal action against the five individuals, Tan claimed he had acquired an e-mail that showed “an agreement to conspire between the defendants with the intention to injure or cause loss or damage by unlawful means” against him.

Krishna Kumar, when contacted, said the allegations had no basis. “Throughout the entire fiasco, Tan has not explained the findings of the Independent Committee (IC) report and his actions taken so far are to skirt the issues.”
