APC announced a series of tank coating deals in Türkiye’s Dentas Shipyard for its MarineLINE system.

APC will carry out two repair jobs at Dentas Shipyard for shipowner Veysel Vardal Shipping, coating the 12 cargo tanks and two slop tanks on both 6,800 dwt chemical tankers MT Barbaros Uluc Vardal and MT Barbaros Hayrettin Vardal.

Turkish owner Mercan has signed a deal for six further tankers, and compatriot Transal has signed for a single tanker.

The heat curing and inspection work will be overseen across multiple Turkish yards by APC’s Tuzla-based Turkish team led by Koray Karagöz.

APC Global Marine Manager Capt. Onur Yildirim said Türkiye remains one of APC’s most important export destinations where it now commands 80% of the market.

“Operators are now much more aware that when tank coatings go wrong it can cost millions of dollars per ship to repair plus disruption and lack of availability. MarineLINE’s established position and track record is able to give the industry far greater piece of mind,” saud Yildirim.

APC said it has more than 12% of the global chemical tanker coating market, with 700 ships coated worldwide with MarineLINE.
