Seven people have been hospitalised and BW Offshore management is in Vitoria with the crew, with support for personnel and next of kin continuing.

The company confirmed that the FPSO's hull is intact, and that a team of specialists are assessing the safety and viability of a search and rescue mission on board.

“This is a terrible day for the families of the men we have lost and our hearts go out to them. We remain determined to continue the search for those still missing”, said Carl Arnet, ceo.

The FPSO had 74 people on board when an explosion occurred on Wednesday 11 February. Production has ceased and the unit has been shut down.
