China exports over 2 million automobiles in H1

Automobile export volume of China exceeded 2 million units in the first half of 2023 driven by the strong automobile export demands.

The country exported 2.14 million units of automobile in the first half of this year, surpassing the total export volume in 2021 and posting an increase of 75.7% year-on-year.

New energy car became the new emerging source of growth. During the first six month, China exported 534,000 units of new energy vehicles, growing 1.6 times comparing with the same period of last year. 

Chinese automotive manufacturers and shipowners have been ramping up their car carrier fleets with newbuilding orders to meet the fast-growing export demand.
