CKYHE alliance members Cosco and Evergeen are set to move to the new Ocean Alliance with CMA CGM and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) in April next year leaving just K-Line, Yang Ming Line and the financially struggling Hanjin Shipping.

“CKYHE Alliance members reconfirm current cooperation scheme on the related East and West Trade (Asia-North Europe services/Asia-Mediterranean services/Asia-US East Coast services/Asia-US West Coast services and Transatlantic service) will remain unchanged and will continuously offer great and stable service quality to customers to meet with customers demand until the end of March in 2017 by enhancing service efficiency, providing fast transit time and offering more flexible port-pair options,” K Line said in a statement detailing re-organised alliance services to the US East Coast.

Under the re-organisation the AWE1, AWE3 and NUE services will be upsized and AWE4 and AWE8 services restructured.

What will happen to the CKYHE alliance once it is left with just three members in April next year is unclear.
