CMA CGM adds new capacity for French West Indies trades

From April 2016, the French West Indies will be linked each week to the ports of Zeebrugge and Rotterdam, on its PCRF line. The aim of the move is to support 3% in French Indies market growth, including new export and import solutions as well as North European transshipment capacity.

The new rotation will leave from Dunkerque, calling at Zeebrugge, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Montoir de Bretagne, Pointe à Pitre, Fort de France and Pointe à Pitre before returning to Dunkerque.

“CMA CGM is a historical actor within the West Indies shipping industry,” CMA CGM West Indies and Guyana Lines central president Guillaume Lathelize. “The Group has constantly developed dedicated services to this area: the PCRF line is a key example, serving the French West Indies from Northern Europe.

“Increasing vessels’ size on this line will not only support regional growth, but will also develop our transshipment activity in Pointe à Pitre and Fort de France, two Group’s hubs serving surrounding markets such as the lesser Antilles and Northern Latin America. New calls in Zeebrugge and Rotterdam will offer new export and import solutions for the domestic market as well as transhipment.”
