DHT Holdings has confirmed a further three VLCC newbuildings at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) at a total cost of $291.9m.

New York Stock Exchange-listed DHT said that it had confirmed the three VLCC newbuildings following a letter of intent (LOI) signed on 31 January. The vessels are priced at $97.3m a piece including $2.3m in upgrades to the standard specification.

It brings the total number of VLCCs that DHT has on order at HHI to six. The newbuildings are scheduled for delivery in April, July, two in September, October and November 2016.
