The ruling on 29 June gave approval to the transaction with no conditions, leaving the company clear to complete the move it first announced in November 2014.

OPDR is a European shortsea logistics company with a fleet sailing between North Europe, The Canary Islands, the South of Spain , Portual and Morocco. The company moved around 200,000 teu last year, and will become a subsidiary of, and integrated into, MacAndrews which shifted 230,000 teu in 2014.

Farid Salem, executive officer of the CMA CGM Group, commented: “This new acquisition reinforces the Group’s presence on the growing European short sea transport. It is in line with the CMA CGM Group’s densification of the regional network strategy that started with the acquisition of MacAndrews in 2002.

"As we did with this subsidiary, we want to maintain OPDR, develop it and create new interactions with MacAndrews and with the CMA CGM Group”.
