Höegh Autoliners ship in missing Malaysia Airlines MH370 search
A Höegh Autoliners vessel is involved in the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 Southewest of Australia.

On Thursday the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said that possible debris measuring 24 m in length had been spotted 2,500 km from Perth.

The Norwegian car carrier was among the vessels joining the search to see if the debris was part of the Boeing 777 that disappeared on 8 March with 239 passengers and crew onboard
“Höegh Autoliners can confirm that the vessel Höegh St Petersburg was asked by the Australian Authorities to divert and assist in the search of the missing airplane MH370,” the company said.
“The vessel followed the request and diverted towards the search area and has now reached the destination.”
The disappearance of flight MH370 on 8 March has baffled aviation experts, however, information from satellite communications provider Inmarsat has focused the search in an arc running from the ocean off Southwest Australia through to central Asia.
