Kuehne + Nagel wins three-year contract from Petronas

Kuehne + Nagel has won a three-year logistics and supply chain contract from Malaysian national oil company Petronas.

The leading global logistics firm will undertake end-to-end integrated supply chain management for Petronas, including freight forwarding services, logistics management plus off-site and on-site warehouse operations, the company said in a press release. No financial details were disclosed.

Kuehne + Nagel was appointed for its extensive global network and its full suite of logistics services, comprising air, sea, overland and Logistics Control Centres in four strategic hubs. The company’s industry-leading technology such as the One Global System which offers customers precise and real-time visibility also provided a competitive edge, as it aligns with Petronas’ digitization strategy.

Kuehne + Nagel South Asia Pacific president Jens Drewes said: “We are delighted to enter into collaboration with Petronas, the custodian of Malaysia’s petroleum resources. Our appointment as Petronas’ one-stop logistics partner is a significant milestone for Kuehne + Nagel. It is a testament of our strategy to offer technology-driven value chains to our customers and further strengthens our industry-leading position.”

In addition, Kuehne + Nagel will also utilize Petronas fuel, lubricant and petrochemical products when performing overland activities in Malaysia.
