Maersk Line to add two new services to Far East and South East India
Maersk Line will enhance its Far East/South East India network by introducing two new services, Chennai Express (CHX) and Chennai Express 2 (CHX2), from January 2016.
The CHX will be formed under a Vessel Sharing Agreement while the CHX2 will be under a Slot Charter Agreement, according to Maersk Line.
The enhanced network will have a unique Northern China direct call, headhaul new direct port calls including Singapore, Hong Kong, Yantian and Port Klang, and backhaul new direct port calls including Busan, Singapore and Port Klang.
“The introduction of the CHX and CHX2 services will offer our customers increased frequency of two sailings a week and improved flexibility with the largest capacity share. Through improved accessibility to/from South East India ports including Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam and Kattupall, we will ensure our customers a world class product between the Far East and South East India,” Maersk Line stated.
The port rotations for CHX will be Busan, Qingdao, Xingang, Busan, Shanghai, Nansha New Port, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Chennai, Krishnapatnam/Kattupalli (biweekly), Visakhapatnam, Tanjung Pelepas, and Singapore.
The rotations for CHX2 will be Busan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Port Klang, Chennai, Port Klang, Singapore, and Shanghai.
