Monjasa opens new office in Vietnam
Bunker fuels supplier Monjasa has opened a new office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Monjasa noted that Vietnam is in the midst of an economic upturn which is sending positive ripple effects to the shipping industry, making it the right time to move in and build on its local relations.
“We already service a lot of local and international shipowners in the area, so a new office in Vietnam is the natural next step for us,” said Morten Jacobsen, general manager in the Singapore office.
Monjasa already has 11 years of presence in Singapore, the world’s largest bunkering port.
“In Vietnam, personal relations are crucial when doing business, and that is exactly how we want to do business. It provides us with the opportunity of meeting more customers face-to-face, understand their business and build further on our relations,” Jacobsen said.

“In the current market, we see quality management and compliance as a prerequisite to work in bunkering and we bring in an operating model backed by ISO standards and vetting of our suppliers. In combination with profound knowledge of the culture, business and language, we are excited to open this new chapter,” Jacobsen added.
The new Vietnam office will be headed by chief representative Jimmy Nguyen, who has been relocated from the Singapore office.
