SeaFocus and Navigate 2020 have formed an Associate Partnership in order to co-create an attractive, substance rich and high-quality conference event as one of the highlights of the Navigate Maritime Trade Fair in Turku January 2020.
Together these two organizations want to raise international discussion on the importance of maritime education, and also discuss how it should be matching the industry needs in the future.
GENDER, DEMOGRAPHICS, EDUCATION, TRADE PATTERNS AND ENVIRONMENT
As a first concrete means, Navigate 2020 assigned a student team to work on a case in the Intelligence Hunt 5 project. The team consisted of students from Germany, Ukraine, Russia, Sweden and Finland.
The students made a research, how gender, demographics, trade patterns and environment are reflecting the future education and how the maritime industry will be managing and monetizing the employment shift, thus the heading. The team was led by expert mentors and the results were shown at the stage of Nor-Shipping in June.
