Petra said in a stock market announcement that its wholly-owned unit, Petra Resources has been awarded the topside maintenance execution services for the Gumusut Kakap floating production system by Sabah Shell Petroleum.

Petra Energy will provide contract management, site execution and offshore maintenance crew to undertake maintenance activities for the Gumusut Kakap floating production system. The 14-month contract begins 1 April 2015, and ends on 31 May 2016, but no value was provided.

The contract is an addition to an initial offshore services contract awarded in 2012 by Shell, for the Gumusut Kakap project, which was the first deepwater project for Petra Energy.
