NYSE-listed Safe Bulkers said the agreement covers scrubbers from Alfa Laval for the life time of the vessel they are installed on.
“The agreement provides for a flat yearly fee, lifecycle-oriented services from the Alfa Laval PureSOx 360° Service Portfolio, including remote monitoring of scrubber performance through connectivity module, service kits, minimum inventory of genuine Alfa Laval spares parts on board and ashore for remote trouble-shooting and sensor calibration by exchange,” Safe Bulkers said.
The agreement also provides for the training of crew and superintendents from the company at Alfa Laval’s facility in Shanghai.
Safe Bulkers has installed 15 Alfa Laval scrubbers on its vessels at Cosco shipyards in China and five more will be retrofitted in the first quarter of this year. The remaining 21 vessels in Safe Bulkers fleet are using compliant fuels to the requirements of IMO 2020.
