Swimming and rowing in support of The Mission to Seafarers

Lawyers from HFW in Singapore have been proving their fitness this week as part of the Global Day Action in support the charity The Mission to Seafarers.

The fundraising efforts by HFW saw lawyers from the firm and other executives from the industry taking part in a swimathon and a rowathon.

The swimathon on Tuesday at Keppel Club saw Paul Aston and William Pyle of HFW joined by Mustika Wardani and Nick White of LOC and Vitalii Chaika of ASP Crew Management Services, each swimming 100 lengths equating to 5 kilometres each.

The rowathon held on Thursday was a somewhat drier event using rowing machines set up in HFW’s offices. The rowathon involved two teams of eight rowing for 15 x 15mins sessions giving lawyers from the firm the chance to show off their competitive spirit. James Jordan (below left) led the way for Team 2 to pip Team ‘Usain Boat’ by 869 metres, with a combined distance 92.181 km achieved.

Special mention should be made of Paul Aston (above right) and William Pyle who took part in the rowathon just two days after the swimming event.

The events look set to a highly appreciated SGD15,000 for the MTS, and if you would like to make a contribution you can go to: Just Giving
