The FSO is cylindrically-shaped in order to provide the same facing against ice in all directions. The unit will be stationed in the UK’s CNS Bentley oil field, located 160km east of Shetland, which is owned by Xcite Energy, and linked via bridge to the oil field’s fixed platform. The FSO will then be maintained for the life of the field.

As part of the agreement, Sevan Marine will be operating as a sub-contractor to Teekay.
