Wallem in China first with 100% owned manning agency

Wallem has become the first foreign shipping company to have 100% owned manning agency operation in China with the official opening of Wallem Maritime Services (Shenzhen).

The new Shenzhen-based business unit officially opened recently is licensed by the Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration of China (MSA) to directly provide Chinese seafarers to vessels managed by Wallem Ship Management.

Wallem has over 65 vessels with full Chinese crew trading globally.

“These seafarers are currently supported by a Wallem Training Centre in Qingdao where we have a strong cadet programme in place. The new crewing license will further strengthen our training initiatives in China,” Wallem said.
