Wilhelmsen combines tank cleaning offering under Navadan brand
Wilhelmsen has consolidated recently-acquired tank and hold cleaning companies Navadan and Stromme under its Wilhelmsen Ships Service subsidiary.
Wilhelmsen has announced the launch of a new brand for its tank and cargo hold cleaning services, Navadan by Wilhelmsen, which will sit in its Wilhelmsen Ships Service subsidiary.
The rebrand marks the integration of cargo hold cleaning company Stromme and tank and cargo hold cleaning specialist Navadan, said the company. Wilhelmsen fully acquired Navadan from Peter Krogh in early 2023. The 100% acquisition of Stromme was announced in June 2022 and completed in September of the same year.
Wilhelmsen Ships Service recorded a $128m income for the second quarter 2024, up 8% on-year and 1% on the previous quarter. The maritime services segment as a whole had income of $220m in the quarter, up 19% on-year and 13% on-quarter, with organic growth driven by inflation and an increase in volumes and activities.
Wilhelmsen said the combined portfolio under the new brand represents the best offerings from all three companies. Specialists can recommend products and give guidance on complex cleanings, including challenging transitions from dirty to clean petroleum products on very large crude carriers.
“Our customers face tough challenges in maintaining compliant and efficient operations. Navadan by Wilhelmsen illustrates our commitment to assist them in achieving the highest standards of compliance and safety, all while minimising downtime and operational cost,” said Kjell André Engen, President for Wilhelmsen Ships Service.
