Zamil and Fincantieri in OSV joint venture

The joint venture – the product of 15 months of planning and discussions so far - will cover the construction of new vessels at Zamil’s new shipyard in King Abdul Aziz port, Saudi Arabia. Zamil expects to benefit from Vard’s vessel design portfolio while developing its own capability in the Gulf region.

The signature ceremony took place in London, and was performed by Fincantieri senior vice president of product and market development, Enrico Bonetti, and Zamil Offshore president Sufyan Al Zamil. The event was attended by Hassan Abouraya, intelligence marketing and risk management executive at Zamil Offshore; Achille Fulfaro, Fincantieri Middle East regional director; Vard senior trading vice president Rune Rodset; and Vard sales and marketing vice president Runar Vagnes.
