China Merchants Sinotrans Lines orders four boxships at Chinese yards

China Merchants Sinotrans Lines has entered into contracts for four smaller-sized containership newbuildings two Chinese shipyards respectively.

Private Chinese shipbuilder Yangzijiang Shipbuilding will construct two 2,400 teu containerships and China Merchants Jinling Shipyard will build the other two 1,100 teu containerships.

The four containerships will start to deliver from 2023, which are expected to improve China Merchants Sinotrans Lines’s services for Asia market upon delivery.
