China shipbuilding association appoints new secretary general

The China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI) has appointed Li Yanqing as its new secretary general.

Li has solid in expertise and professional in scientific research of shipbuilding industry, with rich experience in promoting the overseas market and international cooperation in shipbuilding industry, said Guo Dacheng, chairman of CANSI.

Currently, Li is the chairman of ISO/TC8, which covers standardization of design, construction, structural elements, outfitting parts, equipment, methods and technology, and marine environmental matters, used in shipbuilding and the operation of ships, comprising sea-going ships, vessels for inland navigation, offshore structures, ship-to-shore interface and all other marine structures subject to IMO requirements.

“We will make further improvement with problem and goal oriented to provide better services and stronger supports to our members, and be a significant contributor to boost the high-quality development of China’s shipbuilding industry,” said Li.

Regarding to further work of the association, Li said that CANSI will continually promote industry development and service for members with great efforts of attracting and integration of resources worldwide, to support China shipbuilding industry developing into a new era.
