CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry has entered into shipbuilding contract with Chinese Maritime Transportation for the construction of two 210,000dwt bulk carriers.

The two bulk carriers, will be in 300 metres length and 50 metres wide. The designes are an upgraded version of the shipyard’s classic 210,000dwt bulk carrier ship type, with better performance on environmental protection and energy saving.

Chinese Maritime Transportation, founded in Shanghai in 1940, has ordered ten large bulk carriers in shipyards under the arm of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), including two 180,000dwt bulkers signed with Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry.

Once delivered, the vessels will be used for iron ore and coal transportation.
