The signing of the agreement aims to promote the two parties’ cooperation on shipbuilding and ship repair sectors, will be helpful to establish large size ship repair base for LNG carrier, and promote the advancement of ship repair technology for LNG carriers.
“Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding has been providing ship repair services to Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry and its subsidiaries for a long time. The cooperation has a significant meaning to us to enhance market competitiveness,” said Liang Yanfeng, general manager of Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry.
Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a unit of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), is a leading LNG carrier builder in China. The shipyard secured $2.86bn contract for the construction of LNG carriers last month.
