The engine, certificated by BV, is developed by Winterthur Gas & Diesel (WinGD), a subsidiary of CSSC, and manufactured by CSSC-MES Diesel Co.,Ltd, a joint venture established by CSSC and Japan’s Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding.
The new engine will enable Chinese built vessels to have a stronger "heart", said CSSC.
The WinGD X92DF adopts low-pressure, dual-fuel technology to run vessels efficiently, effectively and safely on gas, in addition to conventional heavy-fuel oil or diesel oil, fulfilling Tier III emissions reduction requirements. The remote intelligent monitoring platform connecting the engine will realize remote support through effective predictions.
WinGD X92DF marks the capability of research and development, manufacture and service of CSSC has comes to a new level, and will inject new power to global shipbuilding industry, said Lei Fanpei, chairman of CSSC.
