Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping orders four bulkers at Jinling Shipyard

China Merchants Energy Shipping subsidiary Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping has ordered four 62,000 dwt vessels at Jinling Shipyard.

Ming Wah Shipping is to sign shipbuilding contract with Nanjing Jinling Shipyard, a shipbuilding unit of China Merchants Industry Holdings, for the construction of four 62,000 multi-purpose vessels at the total cost of up to $119m.

The four vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2022.

The newbuildings is part of the company’s plan to upgrade bulk carrier fleet, which will support the company to stabilize and strengthen market position, said China Merchants Energy Shipping.

Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping is the bulk carrier operation arm of China Merchants Energy Shipping. As the end of Nov 2019, Ming Wah operated and managed 145 bulk carriers, totalling in 22.72m dwt.
