New Dayang Shipbuilding secures order for four bulk carriers

China’s New Dayang Shipbuilding has received orders for four bulk carriers from compatriots Zhejiang Shipping Group and Fujian Shishi Dingsheng Shipping.

Zhejiang Shipping booked a pair of 51,000-dwt bulkers at the shipyard, with delivery scheduled in the first half of 2022. The newbuildings will be deployed in domestic coastal areas of Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Bohai Bay area.

Separately, New Dayang Shipbuilding won orders for two 75,0000dwt bulk carriers from Fujian Shishi Dingsheng Shipping, for use in domestic shipping trades. 

The total contract value of the four bulk carriers is over RMB600m ($86m).

Amid the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, New Dayang Shipbuilding said it has managed to maintain stable production and deliver nine ships in the first half of 2020.
