Clean Marine and Keppel Shipyard have been able to reduce the time for installing a hybrid scrubber on Dorian LPG very large gas carrier (VLGC) to 30 days, including a concurrent special survey

The retrofit of a Clean Marine 140k compact hybrid scrubber on the VLGC Cratis from Dorian LPG took 30 days including vessel’s special survey work carried out both in drydock and alongside a berth at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore.

“During the hybrid scrubber retrofit installation, the vessel underwent a five-year Classification survey cycle and all typical maintenance works, including full hull painting, ensuring the most cost-efficient result for all project stakeholders,” said Svein Ole Strømmen, coo of Clean Marine.

It is the sixth Dorian LPG vessel to be outfitted with a Clean Marine scrubber and the seventh installation for the shipowner is expected next month.

“We are very pleased with our collaboration and close partnerships with Keppel Shipyard and Clean Marine in our projects. The execution of a hybrid scrubber installation, including special survey and maintenance work for our vessels within 30 days, surpasses our expectations,” Dorian LPG chief executive John Lycouris.
