SWS China’s top shipbuilder by output in first eight months of 2020

The shipbuilding output of CSSC Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) reached 3.55m dwt in the first eight months of this year, reaffirming its rank as No.1 among Chinese shipyards.

During January and August, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding delivered 21 vessels and offshore platforms, totaling in 3.55m dwt, an increase of 10% year-on-year. 

The shipyard’s deliveries included a jack-up drilling platform, platform supply vessel, very large ore carrier, super large floating production storage & offloading and bulk carriers in the period of first eight months.

Last year, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding reported a shipbuilding volume of 5.5m dwt making it China’s largest shipbuilding yard.
