Hansen will be stepping up to head the insurance firm from his current post as finance director, a position he has held for six of his 11 years at Skuld.

"I know that under Ståle's stewardship Skuld is in excellent hands and our ambitious plans for the future will be expertly managed," said Jacobsohn, who will move to the newly created role of executive director on the board.

"This is very positive news for Skuld and for our members, clients and other stakeholders, and I know that we will continue to go from strength to strength, with service at the core of everything we do."

Hansen commented: "I am looking forward to the challenge of building on Skuld's positive momentum. Skuld is a dynamic business, and we have a strong team of people who together offer great potential for the future."
