The deal, the financial details of which were undisclosed, extends a contract with ABB first signed in 2010.

Topaz ceo René Kofod-Olsen is thrilled the company’s specialised cable laying vessel, Topaz Installer, will continue its North Sea deployment for ABB, a leading supplier of high-voltage cable systems, installation and services for all types of submarine and underground power transmission solutions.

“Our partnership with ABB is built on many years of close cooperation. We are looking forward to continuing our work and the continued provision of exceptional and cost-effective services,” said Kofod-Olsen.

Topaz provides marine solutions to the global energy industry with focus on the Caspian Sea, Middle East, West Africa and subsea operations in the North Sea and Gulf of Mexico. A subsidiary of Renaissance Services SAOG, a publicly traded company on the Muscat Securities Market, Topaz operates a fleet of 100 offshore support vessels of an average age of eight years.
