Swire Projects has chartered three handysize multi-purpose (MPP) vessels from R. Braren.

The project cargo business unit of Swire Shipping is chartering three 2010 and 2011-built, 28,000 dwt MPPs on three-year firm period with options to extend. The vessels will be renamed Pacific Honour, Pacific Humility, and Pacific Hero.

The vessels are seen by Swire Projects as ideal for carrying wind energy turbines, tubulars, power generators, plant and machinery and other related equipment.

Delivery of the vessels will start in Q4 this year and extend into the beginning of 2023 growing Swire Projects fleet to 15 ships by year end.

Namir Khanbabi, General Manager of Swire Projects, said: This latest charter agreement is part of a longer-term business strategy to expand in our targeted markets and sectors by procuring suitable tonnage from high-quality owners. That also enables our dedicated team of experienced specialists to deploy the assets optimally to deliver value for our customers and other stakeholders alike.”

In November 2021 the company entered into the long-term charter of six MPP heavy lift vessels from Nordic Project and Finance
