Bestway Marine & Energy Technology has inked a newbuild contract for a 1,200 tonne self-jackup wind power installation platform construction contract with a domestic Chinese owner.

The platform, measuring in 106.6 metres length, 44.2 metres width, will be equipped with full-electricity propulsion system, and have an accommodation capacity of 120 people.

It is the fifth new offshore platform contract Bestway has bagged this year, and the 11th wind power installation platform the company has secured.

This platform will be constructed at Bestway’s production base in Taizhou.

The contract marks the first collaboration with Shanghai Tengdong Construction. Its large-size land equipment lifting expertise will help Bestway to improve installation efficiency for offshore wind power platform, said Bestway.

In May this year, Jiangsu Hengtong Lande Offshore Engineering Company placed an order at Bestway for the construction of one 1,600 tonnes self-jackup wind power installation platform, which is expected to start construction in October this year.
