Chengxi Shipyard bags eight woodchip carriers from BOC Leasing

CSSC Chengxi Shipyard and the Bank of Communications Financial Leasing have entered into the shipbuilding contract for the construction of eight woodchip carriers.

The deal consists of six 64,000 tonne woodchip carriers and two 70,000 tonne woodchip carriers.

Since its first contracts in 2017, Bank of Communications Financial Leasing had ordered sixteen vessels from Chengxi Shipyard in four years.

Chengxi shipyard has been a pioneer for woodchip carriers construction under China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and has independently designed and constructed the 64,000 and 70,00 tonne woodchip carriers for the owners worldwide.
