CITIC Leasing orders 10 multi-purpose vessels at Chengxi Shipyard

CSSC Chengxi Shipyard has entered into a shipbuilding contract with Chinese financial company CITIC Leasing for ten multi-purpose vessels.

The ten 84,500 tonne multi-purpose vessels are designed to transport paper pulp, containers, new energy automobiles and other kinds of cargo. 

During 2021 and 2022, Chengxi Shipyard had constructed four 62,000 tonne multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels, which were the largest multi-purpose vessels at the time. 

As of date, Chengxi has newly inked newbuild orders for 13 vessels this year, already accomplished the full-year new order target, including two 82,600 tonne bulk carriers, ten 84,500 tonne multi-purpose vessels and one 17,000 tonne asphalt tankers.
