Cosco orders four new VLCCs

China Cosco Group has ordered four VLCC newbuilds from China Shipbuilding Industry Co (CSIC).

The 320,000 dwt oil tankers will be built at Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC) and operated by Dalian Ocean Shipping (Cosco Dalian).

The state-owned shipping conglomerate already has two VLCCs being built at the same shipyard, bringing its VLCCs o order to six in total.

The latest newbuildings are scheduled to be delivered in 2016.
