Cosco Shipping and PetroChina return to Hudong Zhonghua for LNG carriers

Cosco Shipping and PetroChina International have ordered three 174,000 cu m LNG carriers from Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding.

Independently developed design by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding, the three LNG vessels will be 295 metres length, 45 metres width, applying the latest dual-fuel low speed propulsion system. 

Following the first batch of three 174,000 cu m LNG carrier construction contract was signed earlier, and the new contract is the second phase project for Cosco Shipping and PetroChina to promote LNG supply chain development.

It is our efforts to achieve the nation’s carbon neutral and peak carbon dioxide emissions target, said Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation. 

Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding has bagged six LNG carrier construction orders since from this year.
