Cosco Shipping Car Carrier adds four PCTCs at GSI

Cosco Shipping’s recently established automobile transport unit, Cosco Shipping Car Carrier, has placed an order at CSSC Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) for four newbuildings.

The four 7,000 ceu pure car truck carriers (PCTC), measuring in 199.9 meters length, 38 metres width, will be  equipped with a LNG dual-fuel propulsion system and other environmental-friendly systems. 

Signing of the new order can ease imbalance between supply and demand on China’s automobile export transportation and improve the capacity insufficient of ro-ro vessels, said Cosco Shipping Car Carrier.

Cosco Shipping Car Carrier was established last year and the company ordered twenty-one LNG dual-fuel car carriers between 7,000 and 8,600 ceu. The total orders on hand of the company are reaching 24 with the addition of the new order. 

As the largest shipyard of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) located in South China, GSI has bagged orders of 22 PCTCs, ranking number one in the global market.
