Cosco shipyards win $150m newbuilding orders

China’s Cosco shipyards have won orders worth $150m to build one 22,000-dwt oil product tanker and two cargo transfer vessels.

Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard will build the oil tanker for an Asian company, with delivery scheduled in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Cosco (Nantong) Shipyard and Cosco (Guangdong) Shipyard will each construct one cargo transfer vessel for an European company, with deliveries slated in the third quarter of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018, respectively.

The European buyer has also secured options for four additional cargo transfer vessels.
