Evergreen orders 24 containerships at Huangpu Wenchong

Evergreen Marine Asia, a subsidiary of Evergreen Marine, is planning to build 24 boxships at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding.

The 24 containership newbuildings include two 1,800 teu boxships, eleven 2,300 teu boxships and eleven 3,000 teu boxships. Total contract value will be around $1.1bn. 

Meeting the latest requirements of environment protection and carbon emissions, the vessels are expected to be deployed on coastal services upon delivery.

Currently, Evergreen Marine operates a fleet of 201 vessels, including 115 owned containerships.
