Grandweld bags KFS crew boat order

Khalid Faraj Shipping (KFS) has ordered two crew boats from Grandweld Shipyard in the UAE.

The two crew boats for KFS are due to be delivered by the end of 2020, and the Abu Dhabi owner has fixed priced options for two more newbuilds which to exercised within three months.

By ordering from a yard in the UAE KFS will also improve its In Country Value ranking representing to its commitment to the national economy of the UAE.

Khalfan Faraj Al Muhairbi, Chairman of KFS, stressed though that it was the quality of work at Grandweld that lay behind its choice of the yard. “As for Grandweld, their build quality is both strong and durable, and their operational efficiency succors us in achieving the desired return on investment. In addition to ensuring the best level of after-sales service, warranty, and maintenance, their shipyard is located within a close proximity to our area of operations. These vital reasons are why we chose Grandweld to build our new boats,” he said.

“One of the most remarkable features of the new boat’s design is their ability to be adjusted to handle many other functions beyond crew transport. They are able to carry marine and logistic equipment, as their deck area is sufficient enough to be used for both maintenance of equipment and machinery," Al-Muhairbi added.

Jamal Abki, general manager of Grandweld Shipyard, commented: “Grandweld being KFS’ choice to manufacture their new boats is an honor that we hold dearly, as this proves that the “Made in the UAE” brand represents a seal of quality and standard in comparison to several well-known, international shipyards.”
