The groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ab. Rauf Bin Yusoh, Chief Minister of Malacca on 23 January.

The vision is for KLIP to be a Green Global Industrial Hub for Energy Source, Port and Maritime Services.

We are not just building a port; we are constructing a symbol of progress, collaboration, and innovation in the maritime ecosystem that stimulates economic development and creates opportunities for future generations.”

Work on construction of the private port is scheduled to be completed in 2027 and create some 10,000 jobs.
